Trip Cancellation 100% of insured trip cost
Reimbursement for the unused non-refundable prepaid payments or deposits for the travel arrangements you purchased for your trip when you cancel for a covered unforeseen reason.**
Occupancy Upgrade 100% of insured trip cost
Covers the additional costs incurred as the result of a change in the per person occupancy rate for your travel arrangements if your traveling companion’s trip is canceled for a covered unforeseen reason and you do not cancel your trip.**
Trip Interruption 150% of insured trip cost
In the event the trip is cut short for a covered reason, this benefit covers the unused prepaid travel arrangements plus the additional airfare costs to return home.
Trip Delay (5 hours) $750 (Max $200/day)
Assists with additional travel expenses incurred during a 5+ hour delay of common carrier for a covered reasons*. This includes hotel, meals and local transportation.
Missed Connection (3 hours) $500
If you miss a departure due to a delay resulting from the missed connection, this benefit provides coverage for additional transportation cost and prepaid expenses for the unused land or water travel arrangements. After a 3+ hour delay; outward journey only.
  • any delay of a Common Carrier;
  • documented weather condition preventing You from getting to the point of departure for Your Trip;
  • quarantine, hijacking, Strike, Natural Disaster, terrorism or riot.
Baggage and Personal Effects Loss $2,500
Reimbursement for permanently lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed baggage or personal effects, including passports and visas.
Baggage Delay (12 hours) $500
Covers expenses not otherwise covered by a common carrier, hotel or travel supplier for personal effects if checked baggage is delayed or misdirected.
Emergency Accident and

Emergency Medical Evacuation/
Repatriation of Remains

Offers protection in the event that emergency medical care is needed and an emergency evacuation to a better level of care – or home – is required. Also covers the costs associated with returning remains home in the event of a tragedy.
Pre-Existing Condition Waiver A waiver for Pre-Existing Medical Conditions exclusion is available if all of the following conditions are met:
  • Plan purchased within 14 days of the initial deposit/payment for your trip;
  • 100% of all travel arrangements subject to cancellation penalties are insured;
  • Insured is not disabled from travel at the time of purchase.

An illness, disease, or other condition during the 120 day period immediately prior to the Effective Date of Your coverage for which You or Your Traveling Companion, Business Partner or Family Member: 1) received or received a recommendation for a test, examination, or medical treatment; or 2) took or received a prescription for drugs or medicine. Item (2) of this definition does not apply to a condition which is treated or controlled solely through the taking of prescription drugs or medicine and remains treated or controlled without any adjustment or change in the required prescription throughout the 120 day period before Your coverage is effective under this policy.

OUTLINE OF COVERAGE**

Trip Cancellation, Trip Interruptions & Trip Delay 
Provides reimbursement for unused, non-refundable trip cost. Trip Interruption also provides reimbursement for additional transportation costs. Trip Delay provides coverage if you are delayed during a trip for more than 5 hours. Some examples of covered reasons include: 
  • Your, a Family Member’s, or a Traveling Companion’s Sickness, accidental injury or death 
  • Being hijacked, quarantined, subpoenaed, or asked to serve on jury duty 
  • Home or destination is made uninhabitable 
  • Traffic accident en route to departure 
  • Terrorist attack 
  • Strike that causes a complete cessation of services for at least 24 hours on the Common Carrier 
  • Inclement Weather that causes a complete cessation of services for at least 24 hours on the Common Carrier 
  • Mechanical breakdown of the aircraft that causes a cancellation or delay for at least 24 consecutive hours 
  • A documented theft of passports or visas 
Missed Flight Connection 
Provides reimbursement if you miss Your Trip departure because Your arrival at Your Trip destination is delayed for 3 or more hours, due to: 
  • any delay of a Common Carrier; 
  • documented weather condition preventing You from getting to the point of departure for Your Trip; 
  • quarantine, hijacking, Strike, Natural Disaster, terrorism or riot. 

Baggage and Personal Effects 
Provides reimbursement of Baggage or other personal effects that are lost, damaged or stolen while on your trip. $300 per article $600 special limitations combined maximum   

Baggage Delay 
Provides coverage for the emergency purchase of essential items if your Baggage is delayed for more than 12 hours during your trip. After a 12+ hour delay, outward journey only, $250 per day. 

Medical Expense 
Provides coverage for the necessary medical and surgical cost if you become sick or accidentally injured while on a trip. 

Emergency Medical Evacuation 
If you become sick or injured on a trip, emergency assistance will provide benefits such as: arrange transportation to the nearest suitable medical facility; help you return home, if medically necessary; provide round-trip economy air fare for a companion to visit if you are traveling alone and hospitalized for more than 7 days. All evacuation or repatriation of remains arrangements must be made through the travel assistance services. 

Pre-Existing Condition Waiver 
A waiver for Pre-Existing Medical Conditions exclusion is available if all of the following conditions are met: 
  • Plan purchased within 14 days of the initial deposit/payment for your trip; 
  • 100% of all travel arrangements subject to cancellation penalties are insured; 
  • Insured is not disabled from travel at the time of purchase.; 
A pre-existing condition exists if a traveler and/or traveling companion has an illness or other condition within 120 days prior to policy effective date in which: the patient received or received a recommendation for a test, examination, or medical treatment or took or received a prescription for drugs or medicine.

ALLIANZ TRAVEL PROTECTION PLAN

Life’s unexpected circumstances can compromise your vacation plans, but they don’t have to compromise your investment. American Queen Steamboat Company has paired with Allianz Global Assistance to offer a travel protection plan to cover yourself and your vacation investment.
Insurance Benefits Coverage Per Person (Up to Limits Below)
Trip Cancellation Coverage Up to 100% of trip cost ($50,000 max.)
Provides reimbursement for prepaid, non-refundable expenses if you must cancel your trip due to a covered reason.
Trip Interruption Coverage Up to 150% of trip cost ($75,000 max.)
Provides reimbursement for the unused, non-refundable portion of your trip and additional transportation costs to return home due to a covered reason.
Emergency Medical/Dental Coverage $50,000 ($750 Dental Coverage max.)
Reimbursement for the cost of treatment associated with a covered medical or dental emergency incurred while traveling. A deductible may apply. Dental sublimit applies.
Emergency Transportation Coverage $250,000
Provides medically necessary transportation to the nearest hospital or appropriate facility

Pre-existing Medical Condition Exclusion Waiver Available
A pre-existing medical condition is an injury, illness or medical condition that exhibited symptoms or was treated on, or within the 120 days prior to, the purchase date of your plan. Your plan includes a waiver of the exclusion for pre-existing medical conditions if you meet the requirements listed in your plan (See Plan Details below); otherwise, the exclusion for pre-existing medical conditions will apply. Maximum coverage for pre-existing medical conditions is limited to the trip cancellation or trip interruption coverage limit (as applicable), not to exceed $50,000.
